Explanation:
associate professor के लिए "सह प्राध्यापक" व "सह आचार्य" दोनों का प्रयोग सही है।

एकाधिक सरकारी शब्दकोशों में "आचार्य" (professor) शब्द के प्रयोग के बावजूद भारत में अनेकानेक विश्वविद्यालयों में "प्राध्यापक" (professor) शब्द प्रयोग में है। यहां यह गौरतलब है कि देश के जिन प्रतिष्ठित विश्वविद्यालयों में प्राध्यापक शब्द का प्रयोग एक लंबे समय से हो रहा है, वहां पर उनके अपने अनुवाद विभाग रहे हैं और उनमें विद्वान अनुवादकों ने अपनी सेवाएं दी हैं। अनेकों सरकारी विभागों में भी associate professor के लिए सह प्राध्यापक का ही प्रयोग होता है।

विश्वविद्यालयों में आमतौर पर Lecturer के लिए व्याख्याता का प्रयोग होता है।

अनेक विश्वविद्यालयो में पदसोपानक्रम इस रूप में होता है : सहायक प्राध्यापक (assistant professor) > सह प्राध्यापक (associate professor) > प्राध्यापक (professor)

यह सही है कि अलग-अलग विश्वविद्यालयों/संस्थानों में भिन्न पदनाम हैं। समान वेतनमान व समान उत्तरदायित्व होने के बावजूद विश्वविद्यालयों/संस्थानों में अलग-अलग पदनाम प्रचलन में हैं।

सहायक प्राध्यापक (assistant professor), सह प्राध्यापक (associate professor), प्राध्यापक (professor) शब्द प्रयोग के ढेरों उदाहरण नेट पर मिल सकते हैं।

agree  vinod sharma: यही तो हिंदी का दुर्भाग्य है कि इसके प्रयोग में पूरे देश में एकरूपता नहीं है। स्वेच्छाचारिता अधिक है। अनेक विश्वविद्यालयों में प्रोफेसर को आचार्य और कई जगह प्राध्यापक कहा जाता है।
