मेरे विचार से grant an audience, seek an audience , receive audience जैसे प्रयोग दरअसल मुलाकात या साक्षात्कार के ही अलग-अलग रूप हैं। हिंदी में “... उनसे मुलाकात की और उनकी बातों को ध्यान से सुना” जैसे वाक्य हमें देखने को मिलते हैं। अभिव्यक्ति में किसी मुलाकात में ऑडिएंस ग्रांट करने का पहलू महत्वपूर्ण होता है तो कभी रिसीव करने का। उदाहरण के लिए :
George Clooney granted audience with Obama...
His Majesty the King granted an audience to the council of ministers...
Before her departure, she received an audience with the emperor...
