agree  Anil Kelkar: It should perhaps be mentioned here that the double 'l' is actually long. It is not pronounced like you might pronounce the name "Billy" or 'silly'; when written in the Devanagri (Hindi) script, you actually write one and a half 'l's.

agree  Anil Kelkar: Continuing my note above, which I could not complete for lack of space: when pronouncing the word, you also pronounce 'l' one and a half times, so to speak, i.e. lengthen the 'l' somewhat.
