An increase in temperature caused when incoming solar radiation is passed but outgoing thermal radiation is blocked by the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide and water vapor are two of the major gases responsible for this effect.

No  xxxfordito: a fogalom jó, de a szövegben két hiba van: nem hőmegtartó, hanem hővisszatartó és nem üvegházhatású, hanem üvegházhatást okozó. Stiláris hiba az illetve, mert felsorolásban valamint kell.

  -> Több mint 100 000 találatot találtam az üvegházhatású kifejezésre (ami talán még nem jelent semmit), a Környezetvédelmi és Vízügyi Minisztérium is így nevezi. A hőmegtartóval inkább egyetértek, de arra is van számos példa az interneten.
