Angolul "limp home mode"-nak is szokták hívni, magyarul pedig a fentieknek.

A constant rapid flashing check engine light indicates that you have a fault in the ECM and it is operating in back up or limp home mode.

GM designed their systems with "limp-home" capability. If a critical component fails, the ECM will usually adopt a backup mode that will keep the engine running and get you back home or to a service point.

Ha automatizálásról van szó.
Az a baj, hogy az ECM sokminden lehet attól függően, hogy milyen műszaki területről van szó. Mert pl. ha számítástechnikáról van szó, akkor nem tartalékvezésrlés, hanem "biztonsági másolatkészítési üzemmód" lehet egy RAM hiba helyreállítása után.
Talán jó volna több adat az anyag jellegéről, hogy biztosabban tudjunk segíteni.
