Explanation 12:02 Jul 21, 2009
Hi, sorry I can't translate this for you but I thought an explanation could be beneficial: the camber is quite simply the angle of the wheel - when no lock is applied to it, i.e. with the wheels pointing straight ahead - relative to road surface, the caster is the angle the wheel moves towards when lock is applied; taking the X/Y/Z axis as the front to rear, side to side and bottom to top of the vehicle respectively the former is determined by the the offset between the upright's top a bottom anchoring points to the suspension oscillating arms on the Y axis, the latter by their offset on the X axis. They don't necessarily need translating although I can't offer any certainties on this last bit... All the best. |
