Én meg valami vezérlő távoli párjának (magyarul pandantjának) elhelyezésére szolgáló dobozra gondolok.
Valami ilyenre:

Először csak arra gondoltam, hogy a pendant éppenséggel ezt is jelentheti, de egyre inkább az az érzésem, hogy tényleg erről van szó. Gondoltam arra is, hogy utalhat a pendant arra is, hogy a távvezérlő a vezérelt masinán lóg, vagyis ő egy vezetékes távvezérlő.
Az utóbbira példa pl. a Mohay Adrás által említett többnyelvű szöveg, ahol a remote pendant (de nem a remote pendant box) franciául télécommande cablée, és a képen is látszik a kábel.

Itt pedig leírják, hogy a remote pendant ilyen:

Szerintem itt arról van szó, hogy a hangrendszernek és a vetítőrendszernek ott helyben megvan a maga vezérlőpultja, de mivel messze vannak az operátor munkahelyétől, van ott belőlük egy-egy (nem teljes) másodpéldány.
Ezért azt hiszem, hogy az eredeti értelmezésem jó. A megfogalmazás már ízlés dolga.

Asker: Hát, nemtom.
Az tény, hogy sok berendezést vezérelni lehet a rajta található gombokkal, illetve a távvezérlővel is. Ilyen a legtöbb tévé, videó stb.
Tehát ilyen szempontból a távvezérlő lehet pandan,de nem is tudom...
