Explanation:
Shallow fry: Ez az amikor pl. natúr szeletet egy kevéske olajon sütünk. A serpenyőben épp csak annyi olaj (vagy vaj) van, hogy a hús ne ragadjon le. A húst nem kevergetjük sütés közben, csak éppen megfordítjuk, ha az egyik oldala már megsült.

Deep fry: ilyenkor amit sütünk, az elmerül az olajban. Tipikusan így készül a hasábburgonya és a fasírt.

Stir fry: A serpenyőben kevés olaj van, az apróra vágott ételt állandó kevergetés, forgatás mellett, nagyon nagy hőmérsékleten, gyorsan sütjük. Gyakran a serpenyőt előforrósítjuk. Tipikusan a kelet-ázsiai ételek készülnek így.
