Explanation:
Nem világos, hogy igazi mátrixnyomtatóról van szó, vagy pl tintasugarasról ahol a cseppgenerátorok tömbszerű elrendezéséről lehet szó. De mindkét típusnál lehet ezt használni.

Explanation:
A tintasugaras nyomtatók egyik nagy csoportjánál a nyomtatófejen függőlegesen helyezkedik el a fúvókasor és a papíron vízszintes irányban halad a nyomtatófej nyomtatás közben. A másiknál a papír szélességű nyomtatófejen vízszintesen helyezkednek el a fúvókák és keresztirányú mozgás nélkül, egyszerre viszik fel az adott kép egy vízszintes vonalának megfelelő pontsort, majd a papír függőleges irányban továbbhalad (vonalnyomtató). Az array printer head úgy is készülhet, hogy több fejet szerelnek vízszintesen egymás mellé.
Az idézett magyar dok. hőnyomtatóra vonatkozik, de tintasugaras nyomtatóra is érvényes a leírás.

On the other hand, in the array type printer, a plurality of nozzles are arranged in the horizontal scan direction of the print head so that it prints each line in the vertical scan direction, and the print head moves only in the vertical scan direction.”
