As long as the NPP channeled anti-Liberal feelings, the Legion disposed of a narrow space for entering mainstream politics and channeling popular protest.

A mainstream általában "(az egyik aktuális) főcsapásirányban haladó"-t jelent, de a politizálás határozójaként, jelentése egyértelműen hivatalos, döntéshozói, állami szintű. Sőt, létezik pl. "the mainstream medical science", ami pontosan "a hivatalos orvostudomány".


A légionárius vezetők politikusi öltönyre cserélték népnemzeti viseletüket, kinyilvánítva ezzel, hogy bekapcsolódtak az állami szintű (a hivatalos, a nagy, a rendes) politizálásba... (vagyis szavuk immár - akár a többi hivatalos/mainstream politikus szava - közvetlenül a felsővezetés döntéseibe igyekszik beleszólni)

neutral  Balázs Sudár: Fősodorban úszni lehet ellenzékben is, és akkor már nem állami szintű a politika. Ráadásul használják irodalomban, tudományban...stb, ott nehéz lenni "hivatalosként" leírni.
