A forditó a "web szerverek, felviteli szerverek, ***továbbviteli szerverek***, internetes kapcsolat" megoldást választotta, de én még a továbbvitelit soha nem hallottam. Tudomásom szerint ezek azok a szerverek, amelyeken keresztül a keresések, lekérdezések lehetségessé válnak - esetleg feldolgozó szerver?

Nem tudom hogy szakmailag pontos-e, mindenesetre nekem tetszett.

A fenti idézetek, és az egyéb találatok a "továbbviteli" megoldást nem támasztják alá. A "feldolgozót" talán inkább, de akármit is írsz, szerintem a pontosság kedvéért érdemes lenne zárójelben meghagyni az angolt. A szakemberek úgyis csak azt ismerik.
Egy helyen láttam "production szerver" (sic!) kifejezést.
