Explanation:
Ez nem a védjegy, legfeljebb alakilag egybeeshet vele. A védjegy (trademark) egy terméket vagy szolgáltatást azonosít vizuálisan. Utóbbira egy ideje használják a jogilag nem létező service mark kifejezést (szolgáltatásvédjegy vagy szolgáltatási védjegy), ami jogilag a trademarkkal azonos. Ha a védjegyet nem vizuálisan akarják megjeleníteni, hanem szignál formájában (pl. egy call-centerben), akkor azt szokták sound marknak (hangos védjegy, védjegyszignál) nevezni. Végül a corporate mark nem más, mint egy cég logója, ami nem az egyes termékeit és szolgáltatásait azonosítja, hanem ezek együtteseként a céget.

Például a Microsoft corporate markja a Microsoft szó és logó. A Microsoft egyik védjegye az Office embléma. Szolgáltatási védjegye lehet mondjuk az MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network weblapkomplexum és tudásbázis) emblémája. Hangos védjegyre pedig példa bármelyik magyar telco-szolgáltató.
