Jól értem, hogy az "insurance policies" itt a "commercial general liability and errors and omissions"-ra vonatkozik?

Tulajdonképpen a kérdés feltevése helytelen volt, mert magyarul csak biztosításnak mondjuk akár egyes akár többes számban, ha jelzővel van ellátva. Itt két biztosításról van szó. Az egyik a commercial general liability insurance, a másik pedig az errors and omissions insurance. A fordítócégeknél mind a kettő általános követelmény. Legalább is az USA-ban.

Tulajdonképpen a kérdés feltevése helytelen volt, mert magyarul csak biztosításnak mondjuk akár egyes akár többes számban, ha jelzővel van ellátva. Itt két biztosításról van szó. Az egyik a commercial general liability insurance, a másik pedig az errors and omissions insurance. A fordítócégeknél mind a kettő általános követelmény. Legalább is az USA-ban.

disagree  Katalin Szilárd: Most látom csak: abban egyetértünk, h 2 biztosításról van szó. De itt nem sima biztosításról van szó, hanem két felelősségbiztosításról (mindkettő az). // Na, de ha így kerül be a szójegyzékbe, akkor sem jó, mert az, hogy itt egyesszámot írunk az egyedi.

  -> A kérdést azonosítottam a keresett kifejezéssel. Ez "insurance policies" volt, tudniillik ez csak így kerül be a szójegyzékbe. Ha az általad említett két biztosításfajtát akarnánk bevinni, akkor azokat kellett volna angol főcímként feltüntetni.

Itt két különböző felelősségbiztosításról van szó, ezért van többesszám. Ha a kettő ugyanaz lenne, vagy ha az egyik fedné a másikat, akkor egyesszámot használtak volna.

Fontos, hogy mindkettő felelősségbiztosítás.

A válaszomat a szövegkörnyezet alapján adtam meg (tehát a megadott szövegkörnyezetbe beillesztve).

Amúgy, ha az insurance policies magyar verziójaként egyesszámban írnánk be a szójegyzékbe, az sem lenne helyes, mivel nem minden esetben fordítandó egyesszámban az insurance policies. Tehát a szójegyzék megírásakor érdemes megcsillagozni, hogy * itt .... jelenti.
