Once confirmed, a judge can only be removed by impeachment for "high crimes and misdemeanors," which is a big deal because it requires action by both houses of Congress. Magistrates, by contrast, are quasi-judges appointed by Federal judges to preside over minor cases. The President does not appoint these judges and the Senate does not confirm them. Their appointment is for a fixed period. They help take care of the small stuff so judges have time to deal with the important cases. |

| Grading comment Amennyire sikerült kideritenem, a Wikipedia info helyes. Igy semmi sem szól szerintem az "ülnök" forditás mellett. Arról sincs szó, hogy a magistrate laikus volna. Nagyon köszönöm mindkettőtök segitőkészségét.
