A bind-over order vagy binding over order nem büntetés, csak megelőző szankció, amely 3 évre terjedhet. Angolszász jogrendben használt fogalom, magyarul csak közelítőleg értelmezhető, bár a szótárban szerepel, így:
to bind over (ige) (UK) = rendreutasítani, kötelezni
"he was bound over (to keep the peace vagy to be of good behaviour) for six months" = "rendreutasították, hogy hat hónapig őrizze meg a rendet illetve viselkedjen jól"

- Bind over a parent/guardian of a convicted youth to take proper care and exercise proper control (Archbold 5-932).
