Bevallom elég merész gondolat, de e beszélgetés alapján (lásd wordreference link) a reticulating lehet, hogy elírás. Valaki újíthatott és a rotating+ articulating szavak kombinálásával megalkotta a rotaculating kifejezést. Mivel ez a kifejezés csak néhány "beavatott"számára jelent valamit, ezért valószínűsíthető, hogy akik az orvosi szövegeket írják (copywriter) sorozatosan reticulating graspernek írták (mivel a reticulating szónak van jelentése a rotaculating-nek meg nincs).
Tehát a roticulating fogónak az a lényege, hogy elfordítható pl. a bélben az articulating pedig valószínűleg arra utal, hogy hajlított.
