English to Hungarian translations [PRO] Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals | | English term or phrase: molecular screening | Patient information and Informed consent-ből idézem:
"Why is this molecular screening performed?
It is well known that there are multiple types of breast cancer, set apart by the presence,
absence, or changes of certain markers in the tumor. Some of these different types of breast
cancer have been found to respond differently to different treatments. XXXXX (company name) is trying to
find if certain tumor markers may predict response to the treatments. The process to find out
which tumor markers your tumor has is called “molecular screening”.
The molecular screening of your tumor tissue is looking for two tumor markers: one is called
PIK3CA, the other is called PTEN. Every person has these markers but in some patients with
breast cancer these markers have changed. The tests done in this molecular screening look at
these two markers to find out whether your tumor has “normal” or “changed” markers." |
