A kiindulási pont és a sejt/plazma határvonal közötti távolság

Explanation:
A vérsejt süllyedés sebességét Westergren szerint úgy mérik, hogy az alvadásgátolt vért betöltik egy vékony csőbe, az annak felső részében lévő jelzésig (ez a "zero level"). Ezután állni hagyják a csövet, majd 1 óra elteltével (egyes helyeken két óra elteltével is) megnézik, hogy a vérsejt/plazma határvonal hány millimétert süllyedt le (ezért "vérsejtsüllyedés") a kezdeti határvolonaltól, és ezt adják meg. Pl.: We: 3 mm/ó.
