A performance-nak teljesítményként való fordítása itt kifejezetten rossz, hiszen a perfromance nem csak a teljesítményt jelenti az angolban, hanem a munkavégzés módját is. Akkor, amikor valaki egy több fázisból álló munkát végez, akkor egy-két fázis elvégzése messze áll a teljesítménytől. Amikor magyarul teljesítményről beszélünk, akkor az mindig kapcsolódik egy eredeményhez vagy célhoz. Ezért nem szabad abba a csapdába esni, hogy a performance automatikusan teljesítmény. A benchmark divatos szó lett az angolban. Korábban erre a magyarok az etalont használták, de ennek használata kezd kimenni a divatból, annak ellenére, hogy jól kifejezi a fogalmat. |
