Látom a vitát a kids és a childrennel kapcsolatban. Nem tudom, hogy a "kids"-et ellenzők hány éve élnek angol nyelvterületen, de 37-éves ittélésemet figyelembe véve garantálom, hogy semmi különbség, sőt pont ezeknél a szülőknél a "kids" használata jobban elterjedt.

A magyarázatban írt "Hátrányos helyzetű gyermekeket támogató szervezet" nekem komolyabban hangzik, ezért nem használnám a "kids" variációt gyermekekre. Ebben az esetben "gyermekek" - "children". Más szövegkörnyezetben, lazább, csevegős stílusban megfelelne a "kids" fordítás, ami inkább "gyerkőc", kölyök", "lurkó" magyarul, de semmiképpen nem "gyermek". Még a "gyerek" és a "gyermek" között is van árnyalatnyi különbség.
