English to Hungarian translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / novel | | English term or phrase: Somebody wor in our garden last neet | "Somebody wor in our garden last neet. I bet it wor them little buggers."
Old men have this conversation in England, Yorkshire, in the 60's. I think "neet" can be "night". What can wor be, and what does the order of words mean in the second sentence? |

| | Hungarian translation:valaki vót a kertünkben tennap éjjel | Explanation: "wor" a "was" tájnyelvi formája. A második mondatban "them" = "they", de inkább "those" értelemben. Tehát "Fogadok hogy azok a csirkefogók voltak." |
