Ez szerintem nem az oldalszámozással van összefüggésben, hanem a nyomtatás, ill. kötés során ha két könyvet akarnak egyszerre letudni, akkor azt úgy is megtehetik, hogy a két könyvet azonos pozícióba teszik egymás alá, mindkettőt a kezdőoldallal fölfelé (Two-up layout) illetve a két könyvet egymársoz képest fordítva (come and go), hogy az egyiknek az első oldala, a másiknak az utolsó oldala van felfelé, és a fűzés egybe esik. Találtam róla egy jó leírást, képpel:
