English to Icelandic translations [PRO] Linguistics | | English term or phrase: icebreaker | HI. I would like to know, how do you say, "icebreaker" in Icelandic?
An icebreaker is anything serving to lessen formality or break down reserve. They often use them when to loosen people up in a formal or social setting.

Asker: Hi. Thank you for responding. Some natice Icelandic speaker said "ísbrjótur" could be used in the context I used, but people use the phrase, "að brjóta ísinn".
