Berdasarkan rujukan berikut,
workaround = solusi/perbaikan/penanggulangan sementara atas suatu gangguan yg terjadi
Jadi, dg workaround ini pengguna sistem komputer dapat tetap menjalankan sistem meskipun ada gangguan tsb namun sumber gangguan yg sebenarnya belum teratasi.
Karena itulah, workaround disebut 'temporary fix' (solusi sementara) atas masalah yg terjadi.
