in una clausola di un contratto. La traduzione letterale non trova riscontro (pagamento garantito)? Si intende garanzia di pagamento?

Come sospettavi, la traduzione letterale qui é la migliore. Il contesto non lascia dubbi IMHO, e francamente: "a guaranteed payment for the outstanding amount has been made on..." non può che significare "un pagamento garantito per il saldo (a pagare) é stato effettuato il..."
Se ti stai domandando come fa/perchè dovrebbe un pagamento già effettuato essere garantito, ti dirò che so di lettere di credito irrevocabili che non sono mai state effettivamente incassate. C'é sempre un trucco in più!
