"I don't think XXX deserves city status. It has a lot going for it, but doesn't have what it takes."

...Despite recognising her "aggressive nature" he explained: "I think you bring a lot to this house, I think you have a lot going for you. When you're up (happy), you're fun."

..."Granted, YYY himself wasn't a phenomenal rapper, but he had a lot going for him. For one, he was witty, coming up with off-the-wall lyrics that were smart and funny at the same time, even if they didn't employ elaborate rhyming schemes."

"When I moved to XXX I was struck by how much it has going for it, put in place and maintained by the council.
The libraries both static and on wheels, the open spaces, the parks, facilities for children, dial a ride for the elderly, lots of health centres these were certainly not in my experience where I used to live..."

Generalmente, go for it significa mettercela tutta. L'esclamazione go for it è un incitamento, del tipo: forza, coraggio!

Ecco una definizione:
go for it (informal)
To expend all one's strength and resources toward achievement of an end or purpose.

e' il non-plus-ultra

Explanation:
Having a lot going on or for means to be really great, exceptional, hip etc.
