in psicologia, tutt'altro campo, che però può servire da riferimento, placeholder viene usato per i "riempitivi" di termini, che ne "tengono il posto", per esempio, nel caso in cui una persona affetta da Alzheimer dice "cosa" al posto della parola adeguata che non le viene in mente.
