I tetti sono più o meno tutti alla stessa altezza perché le casette delle Cotswalds sono spesso in pietra e mai molto alte. Credo qui voglia sottolineare il contrasto con i fumaioli, le ciminiere lontane che si stagliano invece alte nel cielo, ben al di sopra dei tetti che sono tutti allo stesso livello, più o meno. Così mi sembra di capire. :)
