This is the façade of Saint Peter’s we all know,
but the aggressively confident 17th century popes
didn’t want to stop with this.
They wanted two great bell towers at each corner, / above where we now see clocks.
It was those bells, after all, that would summon / the faithful for papal blessings
and make the Christian dream real.


Su un dizionario online ho visto che "aggressively confident" è un sinonimo di bullish, per cui ho tradotto tutto con "ottimisti"... Pensate sia corretto!?


Un'altra domanda.... Ho tradotto "didn’t want to stop with this" con "erano insaziabili": pensate sia troppo azzardata come traduzione?
