Explanation:
Ha a che fare con 4x4 e quando si viaggia con tutte le ruote motrici inserite. "engage the axle" e' quando si fa girare la ruota davanti in modo da non andare fuori nelle curve. Sono quindi abbastanza sicura che non significhi "mettere in folle".
Forse questi link ti possono aiutare a capire cosa sia.

Non si quale sia il termine esatto in italiano.
