Immagino che dicano di non non dover far fronte a costi quali pubblicità e affitto che la concorrenza deve invece sostenere

in pratica tutti gli "operating costs" di un'azienda...quindi inclusi anche quelli che hai menzionato nel testo: pubblicità, affitti ecc..

una precisazione: gli overheads (i costi di esercizio, o costi generali di amm.ne e di vendita) non includono *tutti* gli operating costs, ma soltanto quegli operating costs che non possono essere direttamente imputati a un solo prodotto a una sola attività, ma riguardano l'intera azienda considerata nel suo complesso. spero che questo possa tornarti utile.
