Il motivo perchè non la tradurrei ma aggiungerei la traduzione è questo: secondo me mantiene la denominazione originale che la identifica ed allo stesso tempo la traduzione rende l'idea. La soluzione ideale, forse:
"Carta verde (Green card), visto permanente per gli Stati Uniti." O l'opposto:
"Green card (Carta verde ), visto permanente per gli Stati Uniti."
