In a body-colored color filter, like Supergel, the colorant is integrated within the plastic substrate. The process starts with powdered resin and dye being fed into an extruder. Under intense pressure and heat approaching 600�F, the drive screw combines the melted resin and dye into a through-colored "honey". This colored mixture is extruded through a die which forms it into the colored core of a film 61cm wide. The excellent performance on a light of this engineered filter is a function of both the higher temperature resistance of the base polymer combined with the unique technology which seals the color core between clear layers. For the color to fade by dye sublimation, the dye molecules must migrate out of the body-colored internal layer through the clear sealing layers. As a result, body-colored filters are the most durable fade-resistant. Moreover, Rosco utilizes a select form of polycarbonate that is flame retardant to meet the most stringent International standards for fire safety."
Il significato è chiaro, ma come si rende in italiano?
Indovinate a casaccio non sono necessarie (sono capace anch'io:). Il termine è molto diffuso, quindi ci deve essere una traduzione più o meno "ufficiale".
a) sembra strano che l'espressione non venga citata da nessuno dei siti che tratta *specificatamente* di creazione, caratteristiche ed utilizzo di questi filtri;
b) sembra anche strano che l'espressione non sia presente in alcun documento disponibile in ita-eng, malgrado questi prodotti tipicamente esteri vengano abbondantemente commercializzati in Italia http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&num=30&q="tinto ... ;
c) allora, mi sembrerebbe (impressione mia eh) più corretto riferirsi a 'colore sigillato', espressione più vicina alla realtà di filtri/gelatine rispetto a 'tinto in pasta' e, inoltre, presente nei documenti italiani che trattano di questi filtri;
d) mi sembra utilizzato (quasi) esclusivamente per prodotti tessili e vetro, con lavorazione completamente diversa da quella dei filtri...
che la tintura è fatta prima dell'estrusione (ovvero in pasta). A dire il vero l'indizio di cosa cercare mi è stato dato dal cliente stesso (e poi è abbastanza vicino al francese suggerito da Tony), per cui direi che mi sento abbastanza tranquillo.
Per altro l'estressione non credo si riferisca solamente ai filtri, ma a tutte le materie plastiche che vengono tinte prima dell'estrusione:)

It should mean something like "dyed before extrusion", a bit like when you dye a yarn and then you weave it, instead of dying the finished shirt.

ehh cercato e ricercato ma non esiste. Normalmente, risultano chiamati solo filtri supergel o filtri rosco, poi segue specifica che permette di capire di quale tipo si stia parlando.
Cercato definizione in tanti documenti che l'avrebbero dovuta contenere se esistesse ma... nada!
