Sono convinta che o si tratta di una costruzione che ignoro oppure c'è uno o più errori nel testo inglese. Il punto è che tutte le opzioni che ho vagliato comportano un source inglese molto diverso. Ad es. i"Può anche succedere l'opposto, poiché si è tentato di rimpiazzare troppo il capitale con la creatività, per esempio nel film XXX." (in questo caso però "troppo" dovrebbe essere "too much")

The opposite can be the case significa che si ottiene un risultato paradosso, cioè che pur avendo molti soldi, se non si investe in creatività si può andare incontro a un fiasco.
In buona sostanza che non necessariamente i fattori CAPITALE & CREATIVITà sono intercambiabili ovvero che la creatività è assai preziosa, anche rispetto all'idolatria che circonda il danaro.
