decodificare, decompilare, disassemblare sono operazioni \'a ritroso\' (come d\'altronde suggerisce la parola \'reverse\')cioè che mirano a far ritornare il software in uno stato preesistente.
Questo non allo scopo immediato di ricodificare, ricompilare, riassemblare, ma solo con l\'intento di risalire al programma \'sorgente\' per utilizzarlo alla fonte.
Il codice sorgente è importantissimo perché, a differenza dei prodotti complilati o assemblati, può essere ampliato, modificato etc.
