Si tratta di una vulnerabilità di Unix (dal quale deriva Linux): in particolare una vulnerabilità di SSH (secure shell, un protocollo che permette di stabilire una sessione remota cifrata ) o meglio di uno dei daemon SSH (i daemon sono alcuni servizi, avviati automaticamente all'avvio del sistema o eseguiti in background)
