The silly display of the camera settings and file size at the top of the metadata window. Please let me get rid of that!
Go to Preferences panel and choose the Metadata panel. At the bottom of the panel you'll see an checkbox labeled Metadata Placard - uncheck it!
Alternatively - look just to the right of the placard (top right corner of panel) and you should see a small icon - click it and above preference is one of the listed options.
