English to Italian translations [PRO]
Education / Pedagogy | | English term or phrase: he provides scholarly leadership | Salve a tutti, nella traduzione di un CV trovo questa frase che non so proprio come tradurre in italiano. So per certo che non si tratta di un corso di leadership perché mi è stato riferito così dal cliente che mi ha chiesto la traduzione. Suppongo si tratti di un servizio di leadership che questo esperto fornisce all'università. E poi come tradurre "scholarly", secondo voi va bene "accademico"? Grazie infinitamente per il vostro prezioso aiuto!!!
Ecco la frase incriminata tratta dal CV di questo signore:
Mr "XYZ" is Non-resident Senior Fellow in the Energy Security Initiative at the Brookings Institution, where he provides scholarly leadership and conducts research on domestic and international energy issues.

In essence we are talking about his responsibilities in the institution, to provide academic counseling, support , research and so on.
Since a leader leads (dirige):
lavora come dirigente accademico
or...come leader accademico
The English word Leader is used in Italian and it's probably better suited for this context.
You could keep the 'provides', but it sounds awkward in Italian, since it seems more like supplying something, in my opinion:
fornisce direttive accademiche....
