Si parla prima nel testo di "vocational training" che ho tradotto con "formazione professionale" e poi la frase: the effectiveness of occupational training is supposed to have increased". Ho tradotto con "..si suppone che sia aumentata"

l'efficacia della formazione professionale pare essere aumentata/sembra aver registrato un aumento


Explanation:
I due termini sono sinonimi, non c'entra l'orientamento (ipotesi confermata anche dal mioo compagno, che è inglese), però io cambierei un po' la costruzione della frase in questo modo...mi sembra un po' più "elegante".

Credo che questo sia il corrispondente più corretto del termine, mentre l'altro, secondo me, andrebbe reso più con "orientamento professionale".

Io interpreto "vocational training" come consulenza, guida alla scelta del lavoro, quindi, se non ho frainteso completamente questo termine, ritengo corretto tradurlo come "orientamento professionale / al lavoro".

neutral  Danila Moro: secondo me formazione professionale non va bene, perché in italiano è un concetto troppo ampio, che include scuole superiori, corsi vari per imparare un mestiere, corsi professionalizzanti, formazioni continua. Il concetto inglese è più ristretto.
