Illuminated/background-lit safety signs can be used to mark emergency routes. LEDs are especially suited to this latter purpose; they fulfil all the standard requirements and thus ensure good visibility of the signs. LEDs are generally well suited for emergency and safety lighting because they are very reliable, start up immediately and can be easily controlled.
