Explanation:
Termine giapponese. Si usa per indicare un sistema usato per guidare un'operazione, in genere in ambito industriale. Un poka yoke è per esempio un dispositivo per il montaggio meccanico di un elemento su un'altro elemento. Se il montaggio è delicato esso fornisce alla macchina che lo esegue una "guida" (per posizione o dimensioni)che faciliti la precisione di esecuzione.

Ho lavorato su una linea di montaggio come interprete. Si trattava di produzione di pompe diesel common rail. I poka yoke erano in genere dei dispositivi in plastica dura bianca che venivano posizionati dall'operatore sulla pompa prima che la macchina effettuasse il montaggio del nuovo elemento (per esempio inserimento di viti), soprattutto se si trattava di un montaggio critico.
