Explanation:
Sitratta di un sistema ABB con SFC (static Frequency converter) per far girare grosse turbine a gas in fase di avviamento o in fase di raffreddamento. Probabilmente in fase di avviamento si potrà spurgare dall'aria la tubazione del gas.

The gas turbine needs help to come to its firing point (around 60% of rated speed). For GT powers above 40 MW this help can be provided in two basically different ways:
• Pony motor with gearbox that engages on the main shaft.
• A Static Frequency Converter (SFC) connected directly to the generator terminals that will drive the generator as a motor for the start-up phase.
Main Features

ABB Static starter will softly accelerate the generator without vibrations or voltage drop in the grid. The same SFC can be used for purging and slow turning during cooling down. One SFC can be used to start several generators one after the other.

1. Wait until the purging of the gas lines is complete and system is in the standby mode (this usually takes about 15 minutes for the silicon nitride process)
