Pretreatment

Wash thoroughly with a steam cleaner and rinse with clear water (not salt water).
Thoroughly clean and degrease with solvent (be careful of seals, O-rings, etc.).
Dry if necessary with dry, oil-free air.
Remove Sikaflex where it is torn or corroded.
Remove and sand off loose or flaking paint.
Spot blast areas of corrosion, SA 2 ½ according to DIN EN ISO 8501-1/88.
Roughness must be according to roughness scale, segment 3-4 of the type G comparator as per DIN EN
ISO 8503-1 (peak-to-valley height Ry5: 40 - 85 μm).
With sheet thicknesses < 5 mm, be careful not to cause damage through sand-blasting. Be sure to use the
correct jet pressure and abrasive.

"Blast areas" sono probabilmente le aree in cui la vernice è "scoppiata" a seguito della corrosione, ma credo che aree danneggiate sia più leggibile

Quindi la frase andrebbe intesa "to blast spot", cioè un po' a braccio "sabbiare i punti di corrosione"...sì, potrebbe essere, soprattutto se hai altri riferimenti in questo senso

Asker: Ciao Stefania! Grazie mille per l'aiuto! Pensavo fosse un tipo di trattamento, visto che si parla p.e. anche di "light blast cleaning" in un altro punto del testo... Anche la traduzione in tedesco (Fleckenstrahlen) sembrerebbe confermare la mia tesi...
