English to Italian translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general) / manutenzione | | English term or phrase: causal P/N, causal part | nelle lettere ai concessionari per campagne di richiamo o interventi di manutenzione, nelle tabelle ecc. si parla di causal part, causal P/N (part number).
Un mio cliente usa "parte causale" (!), un altro "parte in causa", un altro "parte danneggiata" (danneggiata mi sembra un po' "pesante"). Avete altre proposte?

causal part
Any part or item that causes a customer to submit a claim.
We suggest the following process when the causal part (defective part) is turned in to the parts department. The technician should take the defective part to the parts counter; the technician and the parts consultant determine the vendor code; the parts consultant notes the vendor code on the repair order hard copy and signs for the receipt of the defective part.
Causal part is similar to a defective item, but stresses the fact that a claim has been submitted due to the defect. |

Scarterei "parte in causa" perché ambigua, in quanto in genere l'espressione viene utilizzata per indicare una delle parti in una disputa.

| Grading comment grazie a tutti. Per completezza di informazioni, mi hanno suggerito anche "parte incriminata" :-). L'agenzia ha usato "codice della parte in causa" (che tra parentesi secondo me è troppo lungo e quindi non va bene come titolo della colonna corta di una tabella). Grazie, Ilde
