agree  Filippa Addis: Infatti "in guscio" va specificato, altrimenti "frutta secca" da solo potrebbe includere ad esempio anche l'uva passa, i fichi secchi ecc. .

noci


Explanation:
Nuts are nuts and dried fruit is dried fruit!!(at least in UK English - I can't say for US)

nuts = noci
dried fruit = frutta secca/disidratata

per noci intendo tutta la gamma di noci, noccioline, mandorle, arachidi, pistacchi, arachidi, pinoli. ecc.

Direi che \"frutta secca\" da solo non vadi bene, ma \"con guscio\" o \"a guscio\" potrebbe andare...
