Intanto, non capisco come il livello dell'inglese rispetto a quello della domanda precedente possa essere caduto così in basso.

Quindi qui si tratta di interpretare, prima di tradurre.

L'unica ipotesi che mi sento di suggerire è che sul pannello frontale del forno, accanto alle funzioni, ci possa essere un simbolo "a forma di morso" (pensa, ad esempio al logo della "Mela", tanto per non fare nomi) che identifica i tagli di carne adatti all'impiego della "meat probe" e che ne richiedono l'uso.

Certo, se il file in traduzione avesse qualche riferimento visivo, l'inghippo si risolverebbe rapidamente. In caso contrario, urge l'input del cliente.

la mia interpretazione di -bit- visto che la frase parla di -probe- che dev'essere una cattiva traduzione da qualche altra lingua per indicare il metodo allo spiedo per cucinare la carne.
