Explanation:
mi pare che vengano usati vari termini che richiamano il linguaggio marinaresco, tra cui appunto "avast" (agguanta, comando che significa "ferma!"), swabs (ufficiali) e anche salty, con il rimando all'acqua salata. Non so se questa interpretazione è corretta, cmq quell'"avast" lo tradurrei con "fermatevi".
