Se si riferisce al programma informatico per archiviare e classificare documenti / immagini, dovrebbe corrispondere a questo. Io lascerei il nome in inglese, ma - per i neofiti - specificherei la funzione...

Per esempio, per i messaggi in un forum, un "tree" sarebbe così:

Oh Valentina, "shoebox" in modo figurato è quel contenitore dove metti le cianfrusaglie che non vuoi buttare e che tieni "non si sa mai". Lascia perdere i programmi computer e altre fantasie. neutral  irenef: ok Vittorio per il senso di "shoebox". Solo che: 1) se è sotto "Technical/Engineering è forse connesso ad un argomento tecnico; 2) "Shoebox" è in maiuscolo: forse allora è un nome proprio; 3) Lo "Shoebox" fa proprio quello: raccoglie/contiene cose. IMHO
