Explanation:
My guess is that there is a typo. The sentence makes no sense. "Explaining" should really be "exploring". The typist probably did a spell check and accepted "explaining" by mistake. Just a guess, but it makes sense to me

In alternativa alla proposta di Badsita, che come ho detto mi piace, pensandoci ulteriormente mi è venuto in mente che "explain" qui potrebbe essere inteso come "interpretare, sperimentare le sensazioni": visto che ogni sentiero viene vissuto in modo personale e diverso da ogni esploratore/turista/camminatore, allacciatevi gli scarponi e uscite a interpretarli/viverli voi stessi/ a darne la vostra lettura personale (se ci riuscite).
La differenza con la proposta di Babsita è che in questo caso il camminatore non "cerca un proprio approccio", ma piuttosto "dà la propria interpretazione" di un'esperienza. Non so se riesco a spiegarmi, forse si potrebbe dire che "trovare un proprio approccio" sottintende un atteggiamento più attivo, mentre mi pare che la frase intenda qualcosa di più passivo: vado, cammino lungo i sentieri, e mi lascio coinvolgere dalle sensazioni soggettive che questi danno.

Adesso, spero proprio che non venga fuori che in realtà si tratta di un errore e che la parola era tutt'altro ;)
