Social Sciences - History | | English term or phrase: Mechanical | Buongiorno..... Non capisco bene l'uso dell'aggettivo "Mechanical" nel secondo caso. Il contesto è il seguente:
"No error is deadlier than ascribe the conquerors' victories to their superiority in technology alone, with the inference that a mightier mechanical equipment could redress by itself the wrongs of a mechanical destiny".

come se un fattore puramente meccanico potesse da solo determinare un destino altrettanto puramente meccanico - cioè come se a fare le sorti del mondo fosse semplicemente chi ha l'arma più potente e non anche (e soprattutto) chi la usa e come la usa e perché e con quale determinazione e quale capacità e quale astuzia ecc.
io manterrei come in inglese la ripetizione del termine, che provvede da sola a spiegare il significato della frase
